A message from Constructive Risk to our client’s insurance agents, brokers, and carriers

Hello, insurance broker! We’re looking forward to working with you. Please understand that we are not your competition in the sales process. Our role in the insurance relationship, as an independent Insurance Consultant, is to provide unbiased advice and counsel to insurance buyers. We may have a mutual client (the insured) but we are not competing against one another. Please know that…

  • We do not sell any insurance products from insurance carriers, MGA’s, or any insurance companies, whatsoever.
  • We do not solicit or accept commissions from brokers, or insurance companies.
  • Our loyalty and obligation is solely to our client, the insurance buyer.
  • We promise to deal openly and fairly with all agents, brokers, and companies, and we do expect the same courtesy in return.
  • The underwriting and application data we provide to you is accurate and up-to-date to the best of our knowledge.
  • The insured has hired us to be their independent Insurance Consultant. Therefore, please treat us exactly as you would the insured and return ALL of our phone calls and emails promptly.

Insurance Bidding, Quotes and Proposals

  1. Your insurance proposals are confidential and will always be delivered and explained to our client, the insurance buyer.
  2. We will never reveal or share any competitive information you provide us with, with any other agent or company prior to receiving their proposal. We will insist that our client (the insured) also holds your proposals confidential.
  3. In the bidding process, we do allow competing agents to review “current” policies and pricing, including all rates, exclusions, endorsements, etc.
  4. We do not give “second chances” in bids or proposals. We expect your best work up front. Discrepancies will be addressed without revealing any other broker’s position.
  5. We set proposal deadlines (usually ten days before the renewal date) in an effort to make the process work better for our client. All competing agents, brokers, and insurance companies will be expected to submit their proposal(s) to Constructive Risk before the set deadline.
  6. We do not always recommend the lowest price to our client. Any proposal you provide us with will be reviewed on the basis of coverage, price, and the services your agency and carrier(s) offers. Our client is under no obligation to purchase insurance on the basis of price alone.
  7. Our role is not necessarily to advise the client to change agents/brokers or insurance carriers. We will advise the client to consider the best insurance products available and have them serviced by the most experienced and reputable professionals in the industry.
  8. As the insured’s Insurance Consultant, we are your contact for the insured. We are hired to help them manage their insurance bidding/quoting, allowing them to focus on other aspects of their business. Any and all communication to the client before and after submitting your final proposal will go through us.

Thank you,

Charles Specht, CEO, CIC, CDA
